Jelly Bean Chicks

These cute little chicks were made from left over Valentines Day sticky foam heart bought in the big buckets from Wal-Mart after Valentines Day for about .75 cents for 500 foam stickers.

Instructions

large pom-poms
2" foam sticker hearts
1" foam sticker hearts
twist tie sandwich bags
1 sheet of orange felt
wiggle eyes (your choice of size)
pipe cleaners
hot glue and glue gun
1/4 cup measuring cup
wire cutters
scissors
pencil
jelly beans or m&m's

1.  Cut the enough pipe cleaners in half for the number you want to make
2.  take the small 1" foam hearts and cut in half
3.  measure out 1/4C. of jelly beans and place in the sandwich bag and shake to the corner of the bag
4,  twist the bag and wrap the pipe cleaner near the jelly beans and twist closed
5.  cut the sandwich bag about a 1/2" above the pipe cleaner
6.  pull the backing off the 2" foam sticker and position the bag of jelly beans on the heart
7.  make sure to leave the pipe cleaner opening side up
8.  then take the large pop-pom and put hot glue in a circle on the bottom of the pom-pom
9.  now you can stick the little half hearts on the side where the rounded part is toward the back
10.  cut a strip off the orange felt about a 1/2" wide, and cut triangles from the felt
11.  fold the triangle in half  and run a small bead of hot glue along the "V" of the triangle
12.  quickly place it to the pom-pom where the little beak goes and hold in place for a few seconds
13.  glue the little eyes in place you got them made

I have seen them made with feathers in place of the half of a heart, but I couldn't find the little yellow feathers for the wings...  I guess I was too late to get them since it is almost Easter.  So I had tons of the little hearts and said hey this will work,  Hope your kiddo's like them!
